If you've started looking for a logo, you'll have seen prices ranging from a few pounds to many thousands. Here's what's behind the difference.
Budget marketplaces and AI tools
These can produce something quickly, but you'll usually get a template-based design with little research, limited file formats and sometimes unclear ownership. Fine for testing an idea — risky for a business you intend to grow.
Freelance designers
A good freelancer can produce strong work, typically for a few hundred pounds. Quality varies widely, so look at their portfolio and ask what's included.
Design studios and branding agencies
At this level you're paying for research, strategy, multiple original concepts, refinement and a full set of professional files — plus experience of how a logo needs to work across signage, print, web and social. Expect prices from around £500 for a logo and from £1,500 upwards for a full brand identity.
What should be included?
- Research into your market and competitors
- Original concepts (not templates)
- Rounds of refinement
- Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) and web files (PNG, JPG)
- Colour, mono and reversed versions
- Full ownership of the final artwork
Our advice
Think of your logo as a long-term asset. Spending a little more on something original and well-crafted usually costs less than redesigning in two years' time. Need a logo? Talk to our logo designers.
